I’m writing to invite you to dive into:
- A month of better physical and mental well-being this March.
- A chance to join thousands of other people across Australia on a swimming challenge + adventure.
- A month for better mental health – for you AND more than 1 in 3 young people experiencing a mental health difficulty.
It’s called Laps for Life, and you’re invited! It’s happening all throughout March. Are you ready to dive in?
As a dedicated Lapper myself, I wanted to reach out to Newport SLSC as you have created a community for people to learn how to swim, get active, and push their boundaries to make our Australian athletes. Swimming and water sports can be such an excellent way to connect with other people and ourselves, but it also provides an outlet for our own mental and physical stresses.
Laps for Life is all about supporting the 1 in 3 young people in Australia who are living with mental health difficulties. Far too many of them don’t seek help, and suicide remains the leading cause of death of young people in Australia. I would love an opportunity to bring Newport SLSC into this incredible campaign and explore how the swimming community could get involved in Laps for Life.
When you sign up (for FREE), you’ll commit to a swimming challenge – whether you’re just starting out or aiming for a personal best. You can swim anywhere and at any time, and you can sign up solo or form a team. The challenge is totally up to you. Then, we’ll set you up with a fully customisable fundraising page where you can get to work raising funds to save lives and improve youth mental health. From there you can invite your friends and family to join you in saving young lives from suicide here in Australia.
Plus, if you register before the end of the year, you’ll go in the draw to win an Apple Watch, which could help you to track and meet your fitness goals!
You will be able to find out more about the event on our website, but please do reach out if you would like more information – I am here to help you every step of the way.
I’m looking forward to hearing from you and hopefully seeing you in the water in March!
