Palm Island Sustainability Hub – helpers needed in Mona Vale this weekend

One of our members asked our club to pass on information regarding a community project taking place this weekend. The Palm Grove Cottage at Mona Vale has been donated by Matt and Ricky Ramsey. It will be relocated to Palm Island to contribute to addressing homelessness on the island. For more info, please click to view the Jina-gundulu flier.

Palm Grove Cottage

Palm Grove Cottage is a tiny 5x5m granny flat currently located at Mona Vale.

• Due to Cyclone Debbie, we are short of helpers to dismantle the cottage in Sydney and pack its component parts for transport by road and barge to Palm Island.
• We’re keen to hear from you if you can spare some time to help before Easter. If you have a spare few hours or even 1 to 2 days for some light manual labour including carefully removing timber wall cladding etc, or you may be more comfortable with helping to label and/or pack each item as it is removed.
• In return, you will be invited to visit Palm Island (timing, the length of visit to be negotiated) and join us for a spot of reef fishing, sightseeing and the opportunity to get to know members of the Palm Island community.
• Valentine will supervise the dismantling of the cottage and we will provide basic PPE (gloves, glasses etc) and refreshments.
• We are looking for helpers who are available commencing this weekend coming.
