Success in the Surf Boats Again

A big two days of racing for our surfboat crews last weekend (14 & 15 December). Saturday was the 69th annual Nth Cronulla Christmas carnival, which doubled as the first of three NSW state team selection carnivals. The u23 women, Thunder (Abby Ballesty, Tara Doyle, Megz Barr and Claudia Harris) won their division and the Open Men Hellfish (Alex Brown, Jake Butcher, Hugh Pender, Lucas Wilson and Mitch Foran) were a very close third. The reserve grade men, Shellfish and women, Nudibranchs were both sixth in their finals. Sunday, also at Nth Cronulla, was the Australian team trials and after plenty of tough racing against the best in the country, the u23 girls finished second, so no green and gold cap this season. The Hellfish finished just out of the the final four in the open men and the Nudies stepped up to open women for some extra racing.
