Those of you that made a submission regarding the DA will have received an email from the Sydney North Planning Panel letting you know that the planning panel meeting is on the 22nd of March. Please feel free to register to attend and or speak at the meeting. Details are below.
The Sydney North Planning Panel will meet to determine the following development application(s):
PPSSNH-351 – DA2021/2173, Northern Beaches, 394 Barrenjoey Road, Newport, Alterations and additions to a surf club building with an extension to the northern side and coastal protection works in the form of a buried seawall along the length of the building.

Relevant documents will be available on the Planning Panels website www.planningportal.nsw.gov.au/planningpanels at least seven days before the meeting.
The purpose of the meeting is to give interested people the opportunity to speak directly to the panel before a decision is made.
Any person is welcome to listen to the public teleconference.

On registration you will be provided an access link, phone number and code to enable you to join the public videoconference.

The Panel is required to make an audio record of the meeting and make the recording publicly available on the Planning Panels website. You should be aware that this may include your personal information if you are presenting to the Panel.
The Panel will aim to publish its decision on the Planning Panels website within 7 days of the meeting.
Guidelines for speakers
- As a guide, individuals will have 3 minutes to speak, a community group will have 10 minutes in total, and the applicant, including consultant(s), a total of 15 minutes to present and address issues raised in public submissions. Any requests for extending time limits are granted at the discretion of the Chair.
- Please consider focussing your oral submission on how the assessment report has addressed your concerns, as the panel will have read your written submission before the meeting.
