The aim of this course is to provide participants with the skills and knowledge to perform basic communication practices.

Course content
- Use communication systems and equipment
- Transmit and receive communications
- Maintain communications equipment
Entry Requirements
Participants must be a minimum of 13 years of age on the date of final assessment.
General Information
The duration of the course is approximately 6-8 hours. This course includes specific regional and local radio operations based off frequencies, support groups and emergency protocols.
Assessment
Assessment is through demonstration, presentation and application of all elements in the workplace. Participants will be required to complete activities that may include role-plays, oral and written questioning, practical demonstrations and performing scenarios.
