News from the Nutri-Grain trials in Tugan and Summer of Surf, Alexandra Headland

Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Trials, Tugan | 12-13 November

We had Lizzie and Charlie qualify for the series. Conner qualified as a first reserve, and as mentioned in another post, he is in the series for Jy Timperley, who has pulled out of rounds 1 & 2. Of the others who did the trial, Piper Harrison made it through to Sunday and just missed qualification, with Analise Kibble, Ben Blakeney and Lachlan Warrener performing well.

Summer of Surf,  Alexandra Headland | 2-3 December

  • Some outstanding results in a solid 2m+ surf. We had Lizzie Welborn win the board and Ironwoman, Charlie Brooks 2nd in the board, Jemma Smith 3rd in the Ski, as was Mitch Trim. We also came 2nd in the Mixed Taplin (see feature image – Mitch Trim, Charlie Brooks, Conner Maggs, Maddie Spencer, Lizzie Welborn, Jemma Smith).
  • The juniors went to Mooloolaba with Noah Maggs u15’s iron 1st and board 2nd and Conner Maggs 2nd in the iron and 3rd in both the swim and board.
  • Also, Analise Kibble made her first open ironwoman final which was an outstanding result and shows how she has improved with her dedication to training.

Overall rankings in the series are:

  • Our Open 6-person Mixed Taplin are in first place.
  • Lizzie Welborn is leading the Iron and Board.
  • Jemma Smith and Piper Harrison are 1st and 2nd in the ski.
  • Mitch Trim is 3rd in the ski, and Luke is not far behind in 7th.
  • Charlie Brooks is 3rd in the board.
  • Lachlan Warrener 5th in the swim.
